This deliciously minimalist Exposition Chair chair pairs premium, imported Italian leather with with a solid-core, stainless steel base. Each square of leather is uniquely selected, piped, and tufted; the final, quilted effect is set off by the slender curve of the legs. Easy and unpretentious, the Exposition Chair brings all the quality of the finest designer furniture to a modern piece that will fit into any room.

This chair was designed for the 1929 International Exhibition held in Spain. Over the decades it has become an icon of important chair design.

Our Pavilion chair is a high quality reproduction using premium solid-core stainless steel flat bar which is hand-made using classic welding and bending techniques. Our frames are NOT made using lower cost carbon steel, which may be chrome-plated hollow tubes and then bolted/screwed together. Multiple colors and grades of premium top grain Italian leather are available for your design requirements. Each square of leather is hand selected, piped, tufted and individually sewn by expert leather craftsmen. Three types of highly resilient foam are used to provide the proper amount of plush comfort and firm support. The cushions rest upon a suspended network of saddle leather belt straps. We created our chair with great ergonomic attention, such that our design has a slightly lower seat angle in which you can actually sit in it, instead of falling into it and then having to climb out like most other models. With good lumbar support, this may be one of the most comfortable chairs in production today.

We use the Capitonn� technique which uses individual tabbed squares of leather cut from a single hide and sewn, welted and tufted by hand. Each line is a "pipe" not just stitching.

We use a total of 17 heavy saddle Italian leather straps ensuring durability and support. All straps are made to match specified upholstery color as well.

FRAME: Ultra-Premium #304 Stainless Steel. Solid flat bar stock. Polished finish. We always have Deluxe Black in stock, as well as several other colors. In-Stock colors ship the next business day!


(Note: Many of our competitors use ordinary carbon steel frames, which are chrome-plated. This surface layer of chrome may rust, de-plate or chip off over time, and simply does not have the same rich luster as polished stainless steel. All joints in our products are fully welded, sealed and sanded. Our Stainless Steel frame will never rust and does not have any chrome-plating to chip or scratch.) "
