George Nelson 4' Bench - Click to enlargeGeorge Nelson's Slat Bench is one of the great icons of mid-century modernism. For this influential design director, utility was as important as beauty. His spare rectangular bench is proof. It serves equally well as table, platform base or seating, depending on need and situation. No wonder it's been called timeless, something this functional never dates. The slats are made of finished maple with finger-jointed legs for superior strength.

This bench comes in your choice of a all back lacquered hardwood or 100% imported stained Italian ash hardwood. The ash is slightly darker than the maple with more visible grains.

This bench is one of the great symbols of mid-century-modernism. For Nelson, the design director for Herman Miller, utility was as important as beauty. This multi usable bench is proof of that Classic Bench, 4' (47" x 19" x 13")

Solid maple frame with natural finish top and ebonized legs.
